Candida Albicans - Do you have a
Candida overgrowth? Test yourself now!
by Nathalie Ekobo

There are many (MANY) different tests that you can do to see if you have an overgrowth of Candida or Yeast Infection. Some will work great, some won’t. I choose to show you here my 2 favorite tests. Fee free to contact me if you want more details on the other ones. And check with your doctor about these other tests to see if one is more convenient for you.

The following 2 tests are very convenient because you can take them in the comfort of your home, and you don’t have to pay anything to have the results. One of the best ways to discover if you have an overgrowth remains by looking at your “symptoms” and your history -- that is why I prefer Dr Cook’s test over other tests. Many clients of mine have used it to find out if they had an issue with Candida. It works fine! My second favorite test is the “Saliva test”. Take it in the morning without having eaten anything prior to doing the test.

When you have a full blown vaginal yeast infection, the most common Candida test performed by your doctor or obgyn. is to take a culture to determine the species. Candida is very adaptive and certain species respond to certain prescription drugs better than others. If you choose to treat your yeast infection with prescription drugs (to shut down the symptoms, not really to “treat” the problem) you need this test to identify what species you have. Please note that you will still need to restore your body’s health and balance in order NOT to experience the problem later. You still need to find the root cause and treat it with efficiency!

A) Take the test by Dr. William G. Crook to find out! (For the complete test, here is the book: Dr. William G. Crook, The Yeast Connection)

Mark those that apply to you and add them:

  1. Have you ever taken antibiotics, cortisone-type drugs, tranquilizers, anti-inflammatory drugs, etc., for more than 2 weeks at a time?

  2. Have you ever taken birth-control pills and/or have been pregnant 2 or more times?

  3. Do you feel tired most of the time?

  4. Do you suffer from depression, irritability, or mood swings?

  5. Do you have poor memory, memory loss, or mental "fuzziness?”

  6. Do you have re-occurring digestive problems (gas, bloating)?

  7. Do you often have headaches, muscle or joint aches?

  8. Do you suffer from exposure to smoke, chemicals, moldy orders, or have food allergies?

  9. Do you have trouble with PMS, vaginitis, yeast infections?

  10. Do you have cravings for sweets, breads, alcohol, or chocolate?

  11. Have re-occurring athletes foot, hives, itching ears, or dark circles under your eyes?
Results: 1 - 4 Low overgrowth
7 – 8 High overgrowth
5 - 6 Moderate overgrowth
9 - 11 Very high

B) Take the “Saliva” test:

Prepare a glass of water before you go to be, and put it on your nightstand. In the morning, before doing anything else, just spit into the glass of water.

If the spit turns cloudy, or looks like a spider web then you more than likely have an overgrowth of yeast. Look at the drawing below to see the 3 scenarios that show overgrowth of Candida.
After 15 to 30 minutes if you see brown sediment in the bottom of the glass, you probably have parasites.

If you decide to partner up and work with me to create more health, relief and freedom, the first thing we would do is to talk about your health history in relation to the major plausible causes for Candida excess. So, you would precisely be able to define what caused it (maybe 2 or 3 or 5 different factors – read “Candida -- the Missing Link” for more information!) on the physical level, then we would find the emotional reasons why you “chose” this experience in your life. From this information, we would define the best custom plan for YOU.

Top 10 Tips to Your Optimum Health! by Nathalie Ekobo

3 easy ways to make a decision and go into action!
by Nathalie Ekobo

Sometimes we hear people having a hard time to make up their minds. They balance, think it over and over again, they overanalyze. They weight the pros and cons of an opportunity and by the time they are ready to make a decision and move forward the opportunity is long gone.

We all know successful people take action fast, which also mean they had to make up their mind first. Any great result begins with a decision. So, why is it that sometimes we freeze? Lack of decision can be very costly for businesses, careers, but also for health and relationships.

We are not taught to take decisions at school, college or university. We may even been taught by our parents or grand-parent to really think twice before acting, and not to rush into action. Indecision creates an inner conflict that generates some energy that is not supportive to our health and well-being.

What do we risk? What are the issues? Don’t we risk even more when decisions are not made? Anytime we ask ourselves “what should I do?” we have options arising.

Not feeling trapped and stuck is important and here are 3 ways to help you move forward.

Find a quiet place. Think about the decision you have to make. Allow 10-15 minutes in your schedule for this exercise. It is a very simple yet effective way to move forward without fear.

  1. Write all the options/possibilities down

  2. Close your eyes. Review them one by one for a few minutes each and try to get a picture, a feel of how it looks, or feels like for each of them. Only think about one at a time! Pretend you made that decision and start feeling the implications. Go inside yourself, try to connect with your Gut feeling! Listen to your inner wisdom, your instinct, your intuition. Don’t listen to your fear, push your fear gently on the side and look at the outcome produced by this specific decision.

  3. Choose the one that feels or looks the best. Don’t over analyze it!
Take a decision! Why tell yourself lies? All these fake reasons we all come up with to prevent us from failure (or is it from success?), -- don’t listen to them! Breathe and trust your gut! You will be very happy that you did!

5 keys to implement change in our life!
by Nathalie Ekobo

We all know the saying: “If you always do what you do, you will always get what you got!” So, in other words, if you want better results in your life, you’d better change!

We all tend to think that if we need to change one day because of circumstances, we will. We believe we are fairly “rational” and “logical” people. Things have to “make sense” and when they do, there will be an undeniable fact and reason that will force us to take action to change. Research shows that nine persons out of ten, finding themselves in a difficult situation that would force them to change, do not change.

If we look at diseases, job situations or social patterns that would require us to change, we all know or have heard about one person that could not stop smoking even after being diagnosed with cancer, another person who continued unhealthy working patterns that got them fired, and the list of repeat offenders in the criminal justice system is here to prove that getting out of a pattern is not so easy!

Here are 5 keys to implement successful changes in your life!

Key #1: Find clarity on what you want to change. If you don’t have a clear picture of what the new habit looks like, chances are you won’t go there! To get your new picture, always start from what you don’t like (belief, pattern, habit,) and decide what you want to change it into and how. Then, create your plan, your road map to get there!

Among my Clear Coaching™ clients, I have seen some real transformations: from abdicating their personal power away to staying now fully in their power in any given situation; from having to control everything, to allowing more trust in life and developing more intuition; from being single and feeling lonely to being happily married; from being frustrated and feeling miserable and poor in a job or individual practice, to having a successful small business that produces a deep sense of fulfillment, additional time and more money. Each time, my clients had to analyze their patterns and choose new ones that would serve them better. There is no way to skip this first step!

Key # 2: Hire efficient support. The road may be long. You will experience resistance to change. Your mind (yes, mine too! ;)) wants to protect yourself so it makes you think a lot of things such as “now is not the time!”, “you don’t really need to change”, “you have done it for so long”, and more (See key #4)! In order to be efficient and to implement change with more EASE (you know I am all about that!), less struggle, and total success, you need help! Once and for all, reduce your ego and accept help. You don’t have to do it on your own! There is no prize for struggling in the dark and overcoming everything by yourself! These are old patterns, old ways of thinking. First, it is more FUN to have assistance and guidance to create your plan and strategies to change, rather than feeling lonely; and second, you need to keep your FOCUS and stay on track. A professional coach (like me :)) can bring the support you need to accomplish your transformation. There are many ways to do it, group or individual coaching, different packages with or without email support; and I always blend in some SRT clearing for quicker results! Contact me for more information on how I can serve you.

Key # 3: Practice, Practice, Practice! It takes repetition to change a pattern or behavior. Some people say repeating a new way of doing things or a newly acquired belief for 21 days will make it a habit; others (and I am among them) tend to be more conservative and prone longer repetition to really solidify the new pattern. For subconscious beliefs, there is this fabulous tool from Robert Detzler called the “clearing statements” that help you wash the old belief out of your subconscious mind; just one Clear Coaching™ session looking at the beliefs you want to ‘dump’ (such as “I have to work hard to make money!”) would help you create a clean state where you can now design and build the new life you really deserve!

Key # 4: Shut you ‘Inner Terrorist’ up! Your ‘inner terrorist’ is here to sabotage yourself either because you feel unworthy or because your mind is ‘acting up’. Remember that our minds always want to keep the status quo, to carry on what exists in order to protect us from …changing! Stop the inner voice telling you that you cannot do it. Take a deep breath and gently push away your thoughts and reframe them. You will always find reasons and excuses not to change. They will pop up in your mind and you may even confuse them with your intuition! Believe me, I speak from experience! To fight transformation, you will tell yourself: “I don’t have time…”, “I don’t have money…”, “I don’t have the skills or talent”, “I don’t deserve…”, “I don’t feel it is for me now”, “I am too busy”, “why change, I have done this for 30 years, I am doomed anyway.” The motive you will give is exactly the reason why you NEED to implement this change now. Get another perspective, a new fresh one! Seeing the world differently always help to change! That is also the role of a coach. You may be stuck in some old patterns, repeating old ways of thinking/being/having/doing, not even recognizing that some of them are not serving you anymore. With a few potent questions your coach will ‘teleport’ you on the other side of your actual world. Looking at your life from this perspective you now find out new aspects, new dimensions, and are ready for a new vision and for a transformation.

Key # 5: Celebrate your achievements! Be happy with all your progress and celebrate the milestones as well as your final transformation. Acknowledging all your successes and accomplishments will invariably lead you to create more success, confidence and elevate your self-esteem.
Some changes will lead you to realize more changes, which may guide you to a mini-revolution. Don’t panic, breathe through the renovation! Don’t let the FEAR OF SUCCESS annihilate your efforts. Just think and trust that it may well be what your soul needed right now. When, in fact, your mind thought just the opposite! And work with your coach on dissolving once and for all your Fear of Success.

That could be your best idea for working on changing a patter this year: Removing the fear of success; Going from “I cannot live 24/7 in Greatness” to experiencing each and every minute of your life success with ease, grace and joy, a little like if you were walking on pink clouds, going with the flow, or ‘paddling downstream’.

You are capable of amazing things! Every day in working with people I see the power of believing in yourself and believing in your goals.

Create a more balanced life with food!
by Jean Ekobo

Yes! You can regain your health by changing your diet! The proper nutrition is key to reducing stress, finding your balance, getting your energy and stamina back, and losing the unwanted fluff.

As a French chef trained in Paris, I was taught all the tricks to please my clients’ taste buds by using butter, cream, herbs, and spices, different techniques and an infinity of sauces. Yet there was no course on nutrition or health conscious eating beyond knowing how to counter-balanced rich sauces with steamed vegetables.

My breakthrough began when I went to work as a personal chef for Muhammad Ali. I was already more health conscious in my advice to clients, preferring the Mediterranean cuisine always over the Parisian even the Italian ones! I studied more nutrition and became passionate about the relationship between food and health. That’s how I came across the Chinese art of nourishing the body.

Did you know that the Chinese mastered the art of healing your body with proper nutrition about 3000 years ago? They found that specific colors and precise tastes feed particular organs. The Chinese saw everything in existence as consisting of five main elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Water and Metal). Each element corresponds with particular body systems, organs, colors, emotions, as well as foods and flavors. When there is an area of disharmony in the body it often presents as discomfort or dis-ease. The body can be returned to health by bringing that area back into balance by eating the appropriate foods.

What did you eat for your respiratory system or your immune system today? What did you eat to feed your kidneys or your pancreas? These are questions we usually cannot answer; but the answer can be found in the ancient Chinese philosophy of the five elements. To feed your heart and your small intestine, you can eat red (like the Fire element) foods, and foods that tastes bitter. To feed your pancreas and stomach, choose a yellow or brown (like Earth) sweet fruit or vegetable. Metal is the element of the lungs and large intestine; it is about the color white and spicy foods. For the circulatory system, the element is Water, with blue or black colors and a salty taste. It may remind you of that old saying “where the salt goes, water follows!” Finally, the Wood element, for the liver and gall bladder, is green and the taste is sour.

An understanding of the 5 elements and how they relate to each other is only part of creating a menu that will heal from the inside out. We have a few options to use this ‘science’ of nourishing our systems. Organic foods free of pesticides and artificial fertilizers are good but are often grown in nutrient depleted soils. Raw foods provide beneficial enzymes but such diets may not provide enough of the right balance of nutrients to support the body. Due to labels like organic or raw foods we may believe that we are being healthy when in the big picture it is not enough.

The Chinese differentiate three types of herbs: poisonous, medicinal, and food. They actually call ‘herbs’ what we would call ‘roots, flowers, fruits, and vegetable’. A food grade herb is not the same as the medicinal herbs commonly associated with Chinese medicine. Food grade herbs are nutrient rich whole foods that contain amino acids, fatty acids, complex carbohydrates, the very important enzymes, and a proper balance of vitamins, and minerals.

It is possible to rely on highly concentrated nutritional foods in the proper balance to return to and maintain health. In fact it is a process that the Chinese mastered thousands of years ago. This is why I started my mission to give free advice. The solution to many health issues may rest in concentrated, alive, herb-food. After all, when a French chef trained in the art of cooking, promotes these concepts of health and wellness, it is food for thought!

12 Tips for Surviving and Even Thriving This Holiday!
by Nathalie Ekobo

You've already experienced holiday stress. You know what it looks like! Think back to last year. What did you and your family enjoy the most …and the least? Remember how you felt on the day after Thanksgiving, December 26th or January 2nd last year. How would you like to feel after the holidays this year?

You wanted to serve the perfect meal, but you didn’t have time to make that special sauce of yours. You wanted to create an awe inspiring holiday table spread with a unique homemade centerpiece but your creativity got shut down. You wanted everything to be perfect. It was not. Are you blaming yourself now? Don’t spend one minute in that state! Take a deep breath and exhale with a big sound of relief!

The rush of holiday travel, entertaining, shopping, buying, baking… it all creates havoc. When thoughts of gifts, cookies, greeting cards, place settings and time running out floods your mind it will steal away your enjoyment and cause you to question how you will survive yet another holiday season. Is that how you really want to spend your holiday?

If not…. here's what to do:

  1. Remove the shoulds of the season: It is easy to fall into the trap of over scheduling at this time of year. Holidays are often filled with the shoulds of society. Remember that just because TV commercials, radio ads or even past traditions say something should be done a certain way doesn't mean it’s best for everyone. Be selective or the 'suppose to do’s' will control your holiday season.

  2. Have realistic expectations and prioritize: Remember what is really important and be realistic with what you can do with your time, energy and other resources. Quality time with family is never based on the type of tree, table settings or the other decorations. To help you prioritize ask yourself, "If I had half as much time, how would I choose to use that time?"

  3. Identify what stresses you out: Take a minute and list what you find most stressful about the holidays. Include everyday stress as well. Look over the list and eliminate what you can. Do the bills need to be paid? Would you feel better if the holiday meal was planned? As you face the causes of stress on your list, the stress will melt away.

  4. No Regrets: Allow the holidays to be the positive, healthy celebration they are meant to be. Avoid choices that will result in debt, diets or embarrassments. Spending beyond your means or eating past healthy boundaries may be aimed at filling an unmet need. If the holidays are a difficult time of year and you are unsure why but find yourself making choices you wish you could take back, seek guidance. Avoid falling into regrets through an unrealized attempt to compensate.

  5. Take care of yourself: Healthy habits such as eating well or exercising are often abandoned when we become overwhelmed from the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Such choices leave us tired and worn out. It is especially true during the Holidays that you can’t give what you don’t have. This year make healthy, energy-generating habits a priority. Exercise to eliminate stress and increase stamina, limit your sugar intake and eat healthy whole foods.

  6. Sleep tight: Most of us are already suffering from sleep deprivation and the holidays often take more out of us than we appreciate. After a full day of holiday activities the body and mind require sleep to recover and rejuvenate. The more the body is denied this opportunity to fully recover, the more the immune system becomes suppressed and the likelihood of illness increases. It isn’t worth getting sick. Get enough sleep.

  7. Remove your ego: Our egos often get in the way during the holidays. We may unconsciously fall into competition with a friend or family member or take advantage of the payoffs of martyrdom. No true or lasting pleasure is attained this way. More often, our ego is responsible for stealing the peace and enjoyment we could have in our lives. You must ask yourself why you are really working this hard for the holidays. What do you have to prove?

  8. Eliminate Perfectionism: Do you want perfectionism or peace? In order to have peace through the holiday season embrace your imperfection. The drive to be perfect or have things perfect for the holidays adds tensions and steals joy. Accept that life will happen despite well laid plans and enjoy going with the flow and not knowing exactly how things will turn out. It is a much more enjoyable way to spend the holidays.

  9. Streamline to save time: Time is a precious commodity during the holidays. Brainstorm ways to save time this holiday season. Shop through the year, use catalogues or shop online. Hire a personal shopper or someone to run errands for you. Spend less time in front of the TV and choose uplifting programming. Limit watching the news as it often brings lots of negative energy, which can zap a person’s energy.

  10. Ask for help: Delegating is an excellent way to save time and engage everyone. By involving the family and your friends in decorating, making gifts or preparing the meal they can enjoy the time together and will share a sense of pride in the outcome. Plus by asking for help you will have more time to enjoy your holiday.

  11. Relax: Think of activities that allow you to put your feet up and relax. Plan an evening of pampering with pedicures holiday style or sit down as a family to watch a Christmas movie, read a holiday classic to your children or sit around the living room and sing your favorite carols. Integrate relaxation into your holiday by starting new traditions that are less stressful and full of meaningful.

  12. Change your thinking. (Think positive!): Redefine what the holidays are all about for you. Is this a religious holiday, a time for family, a celebration? Release the concerns, worries and expectations of the holidays and get back to the real meaning. If receiving presents is a main focus use the opportunity to share a lesson in the value of giving. Cultivate a sense of the true spirit of the season.

Embrace these changes and do more than survive… make your holiday experience magnificent! Some of these tips may seem difficult maybe even unrealistic but with the proper support they are very possible.

Happy holidays!
